Stained Glass Kaleidoscopes "Through the Keyhole#2 " By Sue Rioux.
Sue's expert artistry is evident in this creative and fun use of an antique skeleton key brass plate as the eyepiece of this kaleidoscope. This extraordinarily beautiful kaleidoscope is appropriately and descriptively named. The 2021 version of "Through the Keyhole" features a ribbed glass on the exterior of the two sides, with beautiful dichroic glass on the top of the kaleidoscope. An additional glass jewel in black and dichroic blue adds elegance near the barrel object case. This photo or video doesn't show the loveliness of the unusual and distinctive ribbed glass.
This kaleidoscope features a 2 mirror system, 7 point symmetry in one beautiful sculpture expertly soldered decoratively with small, round beads and four feet on which the sculpture sits. A true piece of interactive art, this offers the creativity in design and classic "Sue Rioux look and feel" you've come to expect from this talented and experienced kaleidoscope artist. It is a pleasure to show her work on our website!
Working with brilliant pieces of stained glass, iridized glass and dichroic glass in the barrel eyepiece, Sue created a kaleidoscope that almost seems jewel like in the way it plays with light. Her signature handmade fused glass and dichroic glass gems make up the barrel, which is a work of art unto itself.
