The exterior is constructed out of black glass stained glass that has been slumped to form the two sides and then joined together in traditional stained glass copper foil techniques. There are up to 5 layers of dichroic glass to the exterior producing a beautiful exterior and complex exterior indeed.
The interior is also very captivating and hold your attention for a long period of time die to Charles very delicate and interesting lamp worked glass parts inside the object cell. 8 Point symmetry 2 mirror System.
Charles has devoted his career to kaleidoscopes since 1980 to his kaleidoscope work. He prides himself in building all parts of the kaleidoscope. There are no machined parts used in the making of his kaleidoscopes. We especially love and appreciate his skill and detail taken in lamp working special parts for his object cells. Always a hint of Black is used in the cells the black gives a framework and some structure to his images. Many of his images remind me of fantastic Rose window Stained glass Images of the great Churches of Europe Like Chartres Cathedral in France. Charles Karadimos is recognized worldwide as a top Kaleidoscope artist.
Dimensions are approx 5 3/4 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches the eye opening is approx 1 1/8 inches long. The object cell is approx 1 5/8 inches in diameter.
