Vintage Kaleidoscopes, "Copper Kevel Disk" By Artist Doug Johnson.
We are so pleased to offer you the opportunity to own this rare and wonderful vintage kaleidoscope set ! Handcrafted at Windseye Studio by Doug and Dottie Johnson, we estimate this vintage kaleidoscope to be from the late 1980s or early 1990s. That said, it doesn't show its age one bit!
Crafted with the Johnson's signature solder technique, the bright copper patina has a lacquered finish that carried it through time gracefully. This easy-care treatment has helped preserve this vintage kaleidoscope, like all of the Johnson's vintage kaleidoscopes, which look as good now as the day they were made. In near mint condition over 20 years after its creation. Over time the glass inside the cell creates a bit of fine dust from pieces rubbing against one another.
• This unique vintage kaleidoscope features a 3-mirror system inside with decorative mirrors on the exterior as well! Two sides are accented with mirrors while the bottom is solid copper.
• Copper kaleidoscope dimensions: 7 1/2" length, just over 1 1/4" height at eyepiece, 4 1/2 inches tall with the brass handle, 2" total height of mirrored sides. Each Dish is 2 inches in diameter.
• The Clear Glass Base is 6 3/4 inches long by 4 1/2 tall by approx 3 inches wide.
