Kaleidoscopes, Pellworm Lighthouse Gifts By Ulrich Karl. Germany has two coastlines, one facing northwest on the North Sea and the other facing northeast on the Baltic Sea. This lighthouse Pellworm faces the North Sea between the Elbe estuary and the Danish border. This Delightful recreation is very carefully and precisely made by German Kaleidoscope Artists Monica and Ulrich Karl. Most Materials used are hand made in their own studio. Some of the materials uses include finely turned acrylics. In 2009 We visited their studio in Germany where we saw their love of kaleidoscope making spans over 20 years. We find the Karl's work very precise and well made interesting and different. The kaleidoscope itself has a very nice smooth turning separate oil filled cell. The cell is filled with nice natural and bright colored pieces including natural seashells pearls and gem stones in natural ambers and teal colors. The optics are fantastic and include a magnifying lens and nice large eye opening for superior clear optics. Dimensions are approx 8 1/8 inches tall by 2 Inches at the widest point the eyepiece. Highly recommended.
