Kaleidoscope, Tilt A Whirl By the Paretti's. Tom and Carol Paretti have done it again! Whimsical and humorous kaleidoscope designs that have classic and enduring quality! 2011 brings Tilt-A Whirl to the line up of Paretti handcrafted kaleidoscopes! Their classic kaleidoscope design consists of Bubinga hardwood, anodized aluminum and printed leather accents.
Tilt A Whirl features a fun colorful grid printed leather on top of its solid barrel. Bubinga wood is at the eyepiece and at the object cell. A gold tone anodized aluminum ring accents the bottom of the mirror system.
The mirror system is a fantastic 2 mirror that creates a 5 point star. The third side is a ribbed or fluted piece of Bubinga wood that makes a textured border surrounding the image.
The whimsical part of this scope is its HUGE object chamber! Over 7 inches long and 3 inches wide! Filled with thick, pure glycerin, this object cell flows as fast or as slow as you wish. Filled with clear beads, dichroic glass, Femo clay medallions and mylar confetti, this object cell is as playful as its name! The curved back on the object cell plays with proportion as well giving this image another layer of optical play!
Dimensions of the object cell are 7 1/4 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches tall with a depth of 1 3/8 inch.
Also included is a gold leather for it to rest upon measures 9 1/4 inches at its longest and 4 inches wide.
The eyepiece has a diameter is 2 1/4. The barrel is 7 3/4 tall from the object cell to the top of the eyepiece. This kaleidoscope weighs about a 1 1/2 pounds.
