Kaleidoscope, Kaleidoscopes, Kaleidoscopes For Sale, Limited Editions Kaleidoscope, "Fata Morgana #9" By Artists, Paul and Susan Knox. This parlor kaleidoscope, "Fata Morgana #9 of 15" is an amazing and collectable new limited edition by renowned kaleidoscope artists, Paul and Susan Knox.
Hand crafted of Tasmanian Eucalyptus Burl is used to create the body and Jarrah Burl creates a darker contrast for the turning cell. Shimmering Curly maple creates the elegant and sleek base for this collectable kaleidoscope.
2 Complete Mirror Systems within this scope create 2 completely separate images. The precise optics create a 7 point star within the right side mirror system and 15 point star within the left mirror system. Both images have exquisite symmetry!
Colors in the cell include ruby, burnt orange, ambers, violets, coppers and just a hint of kiwi green to cool the warm image. All is set on a black background. The fluid cell chamber measures 4 inches in diameter with an internal depth of one inch. This allows many layers of the flameworked glass within the images. Some of the dichroic flameworked spirals are nearly 2 inches in length!
The over all dimensions of the barrel and cell are 10 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide. The base measures 9 1/2 half inches long with a width of 3 1/2 inches. Its overall height is 6 inches.
Highly recommended by Karl Schilling as a great acquisition for the discerning kaleidoscope collector!
