The PeaceKeeper Kaleidoscope by the Colliers is a fantastic piece of kaleidoscopic art! The exterior of this kaleidoscope is crafted from solid Mahogany, Walnut, Padauk, Ash and Cherry woods. Solid woods are stacked and laminated together and then sculpted on the lathe to create this striking exterior. There is often a faint aroma of linseed oil as the wood has a wonderful natural finish. This kaleidoscope stands just under 8 inches tall and has a diameter 2 1/4 inches at the eye piece and a diameter of 3 1/2 inches at its widest part. The interior of this kaleidoscope features a wonderful 2 mirror system that creates a 5 point star/mandala. The solid bottom creates a solid background to the interior image. Light enters the object cell at a perpendicular angle and fills the chamber with bright light. The colors are provided by sculpted pieces of FeMo clay and glass beads. Movement is provided by 2 functions. One is the pure mineral oil in which the clay and glass pieces are suspended. Second is the smooth turning action of the bottom chamber. A fabulous kaleidoscope inside and out!
